Barcode Scanner FAQ

Which barcodes can I scan?

Common 1D formats such as EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128 and Code 39. QR codes belong on the QR Code Scanner page.

Is the image uploaded?

No. Decoding runs in your browser.

Why did a scan fail?

Use a sharp, well-lit photo with the bars filling most of the frame. Blurry or partly cropped codes often fail.

Can I scan several codes at once?

The page reports the first code it can read in the frame.

Do I need a dedicated scanner gun?

No. A phone or laptop camera, or a still photo, is enough when the code is clear.
