These are the sums people in India usually do before they talk to a bank or fill a form: the monthly EMI on a home or personal loan, what a SIP or FD might be worth, GST on a quote, or exact age as on a cut-off date.

Each calculator on this page runs in your browser. Type the figures and read the result. Nothing is stored, and you do not need an account. The numbers are illustrative. Banks apply their own rounding, and market returns do not arrive as a smooth monthly rate.

If you only need the percentage arithmetic itself, start with the short guide on how to calculate percentages. For a loan, deposit, tax or date, open the matching tool below.

Which calculator to open

Use the EMI calculator for a home, car or personal loan when you have the principal, annual rate and tenure. Use the SIP calculator for a monthly mutual-fund investment, or switch that page to lumpsum for a one-off amount. Use the FD and RD calculator when the rate is fixed by a bank, not assumed by you.

The GST calculator adds or removes 5, 12, 18 or 28 percent and shows the CGST and SGST split. The age calculator gives years, months and days as on today or any other date. The date format converter rewrites one date and lists its weekday, week number and quarter.

Loan EMI, interest and prepayment

An EMI is a fixed monthly amount that covers both interest and principal. Early instalments are mostly interest because the outstanding balance is at its highest. Later ones pay down more of the loan. That is just reducing-balance interest; the monthly figure itself usually stays the same.

The EMI calculator shows the monthly instalment, total interest, a principal-versus-interest chart, and the full amortisation table. You can type a custom EMI to see how much sooner the loan would finish, or model a lump-sum prepayment and compare the interest you would save.

A โ‚น20 lakh home loan at 8.5% for 20 years is roughly โ‚น17,350 a month. Stretching the same loan to 25 years drops the EMI but adds a lot of interest. Run both and look at the totals, not only the monthly number. Processing fees, insurance and GST on charges are not included, so the real cost of borrowing is a little higher than the screen shows.

SIP and lumpsum projections

A systematic investment plan puts a fixed amount in every month. The SIP calculator converts the annual return you type into a monthly rate, then shows how much of the maturity value is your own money and how much is growth. There is a lumpsum mode if you are investing a single amount instead.

Do not treat 12% as a promise. Run 8%, 10% and 12% and look at the spread. Expense ratio, exit load, tax and inflation are not deducted, so the maturity figure is a gross number in future rupees. Past returns do not tell you what the next ten years will do.

Fixed and recurring deposits

A fixed deposit takes money you already have. A recurring deposit takes a set amount every month. The FD/RD calculator lets you pick yearly, half-yearly, quarterly or monthly compounding. Two deposits that quote the same annual rate can mature at different values if the compounding is different.

Effective annual yield is the fairer number when you compare bank offers, because it normalises for compounding. Interest on bank deposits is taxable, and banks deduct TDS above the threshold. The figure here is the gross maturity value. Premature-withdrawal penalties are not modelled.

Add or remove GST

The GST calculator works with the four common slabs: 5, 12, 18 and 28 percent. Exclusive mode adds tax to a base amount. Inclusive mode works backwards from a bill that already includes GST.

The usual mistake is subtracting 18% from a GST-inclusive total. That is the wrong sum. Divide by 1.18 instead. A total of โ‚น1,180 at 18% is โ‚น1,000 of base and โ‚น180 of tax. For a supply inside one state the tax splits equally into CGST and SGST; the calculator shows that split. It does not handle IGST or compensation cess, and it will not tell you which slab your product falls under.

Age and date formats

The age calculator subtracts day, month and year separately and borrows when needed, which is how people actually count age on a calendar. Set the second date to a scheme or form cut-off if the question is not โ€œhow old am I todayโ€. Leap years are handled. Time of birth is not used.

The date format converter rewrites one date as DD/MM/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, US (MM/DD/YYYY), full text or ISO 8601, then lists the weekday, day of year, week number and quarter. Dates such as 03/04/2026 are ambiguous: day-first they are 3 April, month-first they are 4 March. YYYY-MM-DD avoids that, which is why spreadsheets and databases prefer it.

Common questions

Do these finance calculators need an account?

No. Open the page, enter the figures and read the result. Nothing you type is saved.

Will my bankโ€™s EMI match this calculator?

It should be very close. Lenders apply their own rounding and day-count rules, and they may add processing fees, insurance or GST on charges that this page does not include. Treat the result as a plan, then confirm the sanction letter.

How do I remove GST from a bill that already includes tax?

Divide the total by one plus the rate as a decimal. For 18% GST, divide by 1.18. Do not subtract 18% from the total. The GST calculator has an inclusive mode that does this and splits the tax into CGST and SGST.

Why does a longer loan tenure cost more if the EMI looks smaller?

You pay interest for more months. The monthly figure drops, but the total interest usually rises by more than the EMI falls. Compare total interest on the EMI calculator, not only the monthly instalment.

Are SIP returns guaranteed?

No. The SIP calculator projects a rate you choose. Real market returns arrive unevenly, and charges and tax are not deducted. Run two or three rates and use the range, not a single optimistic number.

Where is the calculation done?

In your browser. These finance and date tools do not upload your numbers to our server.
