Someone asks for “a Word file”. You have the content in an email, a ticket, or a notes app. Pasting into a blank document is easy if you already have Word open. If you do not, you still need a file with a real extension.
Two pages on this site do that job and nothing fancier. Text to Word writes a .docx. Text to PDF writes an A4 PDF with selectable text. Line breaks become paragraphs. Nobody invents a letterhead for you.
Pick the format for the other person
- Word — they want to edit, comment, or drop the text into a template.
- PDF — they want something they can print or attach without changing it.
If you have HTML, use HTML to PDF instead. These two pages are plain text only.
Limits worth knowing
About 200,000 characters. A .txt upload is fine if it stays under that. Bold, fonts, and images are not inferred from asterisks or markdown. You format later in Word if you care.
The text is sent to the server to build the file, then thrown away. Do not paste anything you would not put in an email.
